More information on CPD:
The Society teamed up with the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE), the Welsh Centre for Professional Pharmacy Education (WCPPE) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to offer a series of interactive workshops to support the introduction of mandatory CPD recording.
We recognise that everyone will be at different stages with their CPD recording and so we are offering two types of workshops:
Type 1
If you haven’t yet looked at the CPD recording website or if you are still getting used to it, then Workshop 1 is for you.
Type 2
If you are using the website with ease, but you want to know if you are recording your CPD correctly, or you would like some tips on how to make your CPD recording more straightforward, then Workshop 2 is for you.
Workshops with CPPE and RPSGB (England)
Over 30 training days were offered during July and September of this year to assist around 6,000 delegates with their CPD recording, throughout a variety of locations across England.
These events were open to all pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians practicing in England in ANY sector of practice as they were jointly organised by the Society and CPPE.
Workshops with WCPPE and RPSGB (Wales)
Similar events were being offered in various locations in Wales during October and November. to enrol in the final events, please go to the WCPPE website or email admin@wcppe.org.uk

Workshops with NES and RPSGB (Scotland)
Scottish NES Events are currently all scheduled in Glasgow and for NHS employees only. The Society is also working with NHS Education for Scotland to offer similar events in various locations from now until April 2010 open to all registrants. Practice Specific Virtual CPD Events
The Society is currently piloting CPD webinars tailored to specific areas of pharmacy practice. These webinars cover how to record your practice specific CPD, examples of CPD records from that practice area and a discussion forum lead by a practice expert and a CPD facilitator from the relevant area of pharmacy. The sessions run for 90 minutes of which around 45 minutes cover a discussion and Q & A. To find out details, dates of the webinars, and to register for the event go to rpsgb.webex.com
When you register for an event, you will be given a password to log into the event via your PC for the visual content and a phone number and pass code for the audio. Participants can attend all or part of the sessions as they wish from the comfort of their work place. After each event there will be down load able audio and slides for those unable to attend all or part of the live session.
This is a pilot of webinar technology to run events so we may contact you after an event for some basic feedback to ensure optimal delivery in 2010.
